1. Cyclophosphamide is a nitrogen mustard alkylating agent used in the treatment of cancers and autoimmune disorders. 2.In cells with low levels of aldehyde dehydrogenase, cyclophosphamide acts as a prodrug since it is metabolized to the active compound phosphoramide mustard, which crosslinks with DNA and causes cell death.
1. As an anti-tumor drug for malignant lymphoma, multiple myeloma, breast cancer, small cell lung cancer, ovarian cancer, neuroblastoma, retinoblastoma, ewing's sarcoma, soft tissue sarcoma and acute leukemia and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. It also has some effect on testicular tumor, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, rhabdomyoma and osteosarcoma.
2. As an immunosuppressant, for a variety of autoimmune diseases, such as severe rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus (sle), children nephrotic syndrome, multiple granulomas, pemphigus, ulcerative colitis and idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. It is also used to resist rejection during organ transplantation, usually with prednisone and antilymphocyte globulin.
3. The eye drops can be used for pterygium surgery and corneal ulcer after corneal transplantation.
